Inari Forest Retreat

4Day/3nights • Rovajärvi Forest Camp • Inari

Spend a long weekend bathing in Autumn colors connecting to nature, working with energies and enjoying the outdoors in Inari, Lapland. This women-only retreat includes gentle hikes, meditation, hammock and herbal experiences, sauna by the lake, relaxation and guided exercises with sound healing, Reiki and forest bathing.

We’ll stay in a cozy forest hut without electricity or running water, warmed by a wood stove. Everyone helps with simple daily tasks like fetching water and preparing meals. Slow down and detach yourself from the wi-fi and the phone.

17.-20.9.

4-Day, 3-Night Forest Camp Retreat

Arrival & Opening

We’ll arrive at the Rovajärvi forest cabin and settle in. The spacious cabin is a traditional Savottakämppä—a historic Finnish forest workers’ cabin, centered around a wood-heated stove. Staying here offers a direct experience of traditional forest life in Lapland.

After arrival, we’ll open the retreat with a women´s circle, meditation moment and sauna.

The Cabin

We’ll stay in the tupa, the main shared living space of the cabin. The tupa is a large, open room for sleeping, eating, resting, and gathering together, warmed by wood stoves and with simple side-by-side or bunk bed sleeping arrangements.

Living conditions are basic:

  • Wood-heated stoves

  • Drinking water from the lake and nearby spring

  • Outdoor eco-toilets

  • Wood-heated lakeside sauna

  • No electricity or running water

Shared responsibility: All participants help fetch water, heat the cabin, and handle basic daily tasks, creating a sense of cooperation and rhythm.

Meals & Snacks

Participants bring their own food. The cabin has a simple kitchen with plates, utensils, kettles, and basic cooking tools. Food can be prepared individually or together.

Tea and coffee are provided.
Inari is the closest village for shopping before arriving.

Daily rythm and activities

Using the cabin as a base, activities include:

  • Meditation and nature-connection practices

  • Group exercises

  • Sound healing & Reiki

  • Hammocks at your disposal

  • Herbal sauna, hot tub and swimming in the lake

  • Exploration of Northern nature mythology, including Ukko, Akka, and spirits of nature

Trips in nature

  • Hike to Otsamo fell, a 2,5km hike one way

  • Walk on other nearby forest paths.

Space for yourself

Feel free to also take time for yourself. The area is full of peaceful, scenic places ideal for foraging, wandering, or just taking a quiet moment for yourself.

Weather

September in Lapland is usually mild but can include rain and wind. Layers, warm clothing, and flexibility are essential. Rain is part of the experience—a chance to slow down, challenge your comfort zone, and enjoy shared moments.

Arrival

Nearest village is Inari, which offers bus connections. Nearest airport is in Ivalo.

I will help to arrange transfers with shared rides if needed from either Ivalo airport or Inari. Fuel and car use costs will be shared separately.

Departure day

On the final day, we’ll gather for a closing circle to reflect, share the experience, and carry the calm of the forest, lake, and fells with you as you return to everyday life.

Please Note

  • Women only – as the cabin is having open-shared rooms - this retreat is designed to create a safe and supportive space for women.

  • No alcohol – as we will work with reiki energy and sound healing, and to keep the environment calm, restorative, and fully connected to nature.

  • Participants are expected to respect the shared space, simple living, and the natural surroundings.
