Memory of the Finnish forest
Reconnecting with nature and exploring the echoes of Finnish forest folklore
Description
This is no ordinary forest walk – it is a moment of remembering. A return to what we have always been: forest people, beings who breathe in rhythm with nature. Surrounded by trees and silence, we reconnect with the memory of the forest, the wisdom of the land, and the quiet voice of our own body and spirit.
The Finnish connection to nature is deep, humble, and respectful. Our ancestors lived closely with the land – asking permission from the forest, honouring the spirits of trees, waters, and stones. Sacred groves were places of healing and stillness, where one entered with reverence.
You don’t need to believe in anything special. Just bring an open heart and a willingness to slow down. Nature will do the rest.
During the experience, we will:
-
Explore the healing powers of nature and its calming effect on body and mind
-
Learn about Finnish forest beings, sacred groves, and the quiet rituals that helped Finns live in harmony with nature.
-
Open to the energy of the forest through gentle Reiki meditation
-
Do grounding and breathing excericses that invite us to reconnect with the ancient memory of the forest and our own deep-rooted connection to nature
-
Relax in the vibrations of singing bowls and the silence of the woods
At the end of the session, we gather around the fire to reflect – or just sit quietly together in shared stillness. A herbal tea and small nature-inspired snack are offered to close the journey.
The program may adapt slightly based on weather and group. A little wind or rain won’t stop us – though in bad weather we may reschedule unless we feel called to connect with the element of water :)
